About

This website was initially created by Maxime Chauvin. It was later redeveloped by Kacper Piątek, transitioning from the original PHP framework to Django, with additional features and functionality added to enhance the user experience. The website follows the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, where each section of the website is divided into three key components: the Model, which manages data access and validation independently of the user interface; the View, which displays the information (charts, tables) from the Model; and the Controller, which processes user input and translates it into actions for the Model or View. While the Model and Controller run on the server, most View components, such as chart rendering, are executed client-side using Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax). This approach offloads some of the workload from the server, allowing it to better handle high volumes of simultaneous user requests. The site is built with HTML5, CSS3, Python (Django), and JavaScript, and the open-source Bootstrap framework ensures that it’s responsive across all devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones. The interactive charts are powered by the Plotly graphing library, and data access is managed via PostgreSQL queries. The website is hosted on a Fedora virtual machine with 4 virtual CPUs, 8 GB of RAM, and 250 GB of storage.
